Forum: etree Subject: top five Grateful Dead aud recordings on this site

5: 9/16/93: MSG: the show is mediocore; but the sound is amazing. Great Rain>Shakedown opener; excellent China>Rider as well. The Estimated>Eyes is weak; as is the post Space.

4:9/19/90: doesn't sound as good as 9/16/93; but the show is far better. Lots of Phil; epic show from an epic run.

3:3/28/94: WOW! This one is as clear as a bell! Perfect crisp sound; Garcia's voice is just as crisp-and check out the Pre-Drumz!!!

2:3/24/93(second set only) I've always loved this show! Great show from 93' and great crowd/band interaction. Not as clean as 3/28/94; but the levels are nice, sound is out up front, and the whole set is amazing

1:10/1/94...yes my friend, the best audience recording on this site. Those german PMB microphones..theres just something about them. This whole run has been recorded with those microphones, but for some reason this particular show sounds better than the other other. Maybe it has something to do with the setlist. Lots of "best evers" including So Many Roads and Stella Blue..get this show!!!

By the way, even when the soundboards were still up, I preferred to get the audience for various reasons. I have downloaded and listened to nearly every audience on this site that are between the years of 89-95. Take it easy, seth.

[subj edit for clarity- I think that's the band? -mod]

9/1/2001 should be included.

Quite possibly the best live recording I've ever enjoyed. I would pay money for this recording if the band were to sell it, so much better than a flat soundboard.

Ingsy's 9/9/2005 is pretty sweet too. If you have a decent pair of headphones, give it a shot.

top five AGAIN ...here we go....i have downloaded nearly every grateful dead show on this site that is between 89-95...AUDIENCE that is...ok, here it goes...#5: 9/16/93 #4: 9/19/90 #3: 3/28/94 #2: 3/24/93(SECOND SET) #1: 10/1/94
Just a side note...these top five are based on sound and not performance quality..although 9/19, 3/24, and 10/1 are pretty damn good as far as setlist and performance go. Thanks, Seth Stine

Wasn't there another *huge* thread about this 2 days ago though?

In any rate, please use the subject field to clarify that you only want to discuss 1 band in the future then...
